Must Eat Foods In Malacca


" Malacca is a food heaven". This is what we most likely to hear every time when people say about Malacca. It is a historical state of Malaysia which is rich with heritage buildings, ancient landmarks and colonial structure, is one of the most favorable place to visit by not only Malaysian, but tourism too. There are some must try foods when you visit Malacca. Here you go. 

1. Jonker 88



A small museum like cafe that located at jonker street with nostalgia feelings, with variety of foods, is one of the most visited place in Malacca. This cafe is famous for their cendol, which is made by Gula Melaka. Other than that, when you enter the cafe, you will notice that almost every table will have at least one bowl of cendol. Moreover, Nyonya Asam Laksa and Curry Laksa also their must try dish.

  • Sunday to Thursday: 9.30 am- 5.30 pm
  • Friday to Sunday: 9.30 am - 8.30 pm

2. Baba Charlie Nyonya Cake House


If you're a kueh lover, you must try out their kueh. This is a small out-of-town shop that sell affordable and authentic Nyonya kueh since 1988. Their kueh are freshly made with a variety of choice. Believe me, once you tried their kueh, you will definitely come back everytime when you visit Malacca.

  • Daily (shop): 10.30 am - 3.00 pm
  • Night markets:: 5.00 pm - 8.00 pm
  • Closed on Thursday 

3. Ban Lee Siang Satay Celup


Every time when people say about Malacca, sure will discuss about satay  celup. This is ne of the oldest and original satay celup restaurants in Malacca that the sauce they serve is hot and full with peanut. As we always hear people say if you never try satay celup, don't say that you've visited Malacca.

  • Daily: 4.00 pm -  12.30 am

4. Restaurant Tong Sheng


This is a seafood restaurant that if you want to try out seafood in Malacca, this will be the perfect place for you to visit and spend time with your friends and family. When you visit this restaurant, must try out their Cheese Bee Hoon, which is perfectly cooked, with reasonable prices. A small tip before you visit, in order to save your time, kindly make a reservation before you go as there are always long queue in this place.

  • Closed on: Monday (Every 2 weeks)

5. Hoe Kee Chicken Rice


When we say Malacca, believe that everyone will think about chicken rice ball. This is also one of the restaurant that I highly recommend you guys to try if you're looking for a nice chicken rice shop in Malacca. They also offers varieties of side dishes that you mustn't miss, such as Asam fish,, friedn cabbage and black bean soup. The place is always full of customers and first come first serve basis as they close quite early either in the evening or when everything is sold out, so it is always better to come early.

  • Monday to Friday: 9.30 am - 4.00 pm
  • Saturday to Sunday: 9.30 am - 4.30 pm
